How to choose a fence and the right contractor to build it.

Buying a new fence is a major investment in your property. We believe in educating our customers so they can make the best decision for their needs.

Installation considerations

The main thing that holds your metal fence together are the Fasteners, Fence Design and the Anchoring system, Either cemented into the ground or anchored to the concrete.

With the rising costs of wood and the lack of good wood available metal fencing has become an increasingly popular option. With its minimal maintenance requirements, superior longevity you can know your Canadian made fence will be looking good and saving you money for years.

Metal fence Screws.jpg

Our color matched #14 screw with a gasket vs the manufacturer supplied #8 screw with no gasket. Screws with no gaskets can scratch your fence leading to rusting.#14 self tapping screws hold 40% stronger than #8. Be sure to ask what type of screws will be used in your installation.

Proper post installation

Any fence should have the posts installed 1/3 the height above ground below grade, for a 6 ft fence that is 2 ft cemented in below ground level. If your having a 6 ft fence installed you can see how 8 ft posts will end up being too short. 9 or 10 ft posts should be used for a proper install.

Wood Fence Considerations

Wood fence has many factors that will influence the quality of fence you receive. From the type and grade of wood selected to the post installation and maintenance it receives. For wood fences we only install Number 1 Grade Cedar.

Wood Grades & Types

The Grade and type of wood will Greatly affect the look and durability of your fence. Almost all pressure treated wood is number 2 grade and below. Pressure treated wood is especially prone to warping, Due to its high moisture content, lower grade and type of wood.

This is a Proper post installation with Cement above the grade and tapering away from the post. When a post is surrounded by dirt and standing water it rots incredibly fast. Posts that are protected from this last 4-5 times as long.
